Onaway Elementary

Building History:

Onaway has been in continuous elementary school use since its initial construction.

Costs for renovation of Onaway are funded by a portion of the bond levy approved by voters on the November 2023 ballot (Issue 13). 

2025 Enrollment:           364 students (grades K-5)

                                       (61 per grade average)

2024 Enrollment:          325 students (grades K-4)

                                       (65 per grade average)

2019 Enrollment:          395 students 

                                       (79 per grade average)

201​5 Enrollment:          409 students 

                                       (82 per grade average)

2024 Bldg. Capacity:    510 students

Playground: The playground area is approx. 18,700 sq. feet (6,900 sq. ft. playground, 11,800 sq. ft. paved play area).

 

Other Site amenities: The Onaway property shares the track and field oval with Woodbury, and its adjacency to the tennis courts allows their use for additional paved play area.

Renovation Architect:     GPD Group*

Architectural/engineering services and reimbursable expenses are performed under a $12 million blanket contract for facilities master plan work.​​​​​​​

*The GPD Group is performing the project architectural work in partnership with RPMI. They have divided responsibilities for the elementary schools between the two firms; GPD has the primary responsibility for Onaway Elementary.

Shared facilities: Design approaches to allow community use of Onaway interior spaces have not yet been developed.
